Luke Hamel Cooke British, b. 1997

Luke Hamel Cooke (born Oxford, 1997) is a British artist working in a wide range of media. He was introduced to art at an early age by his father, the painter Francis Hamel, who educated him in art history, drawing, and painting.


He studied Fine Art at Falmouth University, graduating at 24. After meeting British ceramicist Michel François, he received studio space and mentorship in ceramic practice. Hamel Cooke later moved to London, where he exhibited while working at Chelsea Arts Club and was mentored by abstract expressionist painter Professor Winston Branch.


In 2024, he made his solo debut with the large-scale DIY exhibition FORCE OF NATURE, after which his work has been exhibited internationally.
